Abstract:Cephalopods such as squid and octopus are important economic marine animals in China, some of them have become potential aquaculture species. Currently, cephalopods culture mainly depends on the natural food, the commercial formulated feed has not been developed. In this paper, the advances in nutritional physiology of cephalopods are presented, including structures and functions of the digestive system, requirements of nutrients such as protein, amino acid, lipid, fatty acid, vitamin and mineral, and formulated feed, which will provide basic research data for formulated feed development and application for cultured cephalopods.
