Show Abstract ( 423 )
The preservation effects of vase treatments with different combinations of nano-silver (NS) and sucrose solutions on cut lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum‘Lucetta’) flowers were investigated. The results showed that 1.0~10.0 mg/L NS plus 15.0 g/L sucrose could significantly prolong vase life and enhance vase performance of cut lisianthus flowers, compared with control (i.e., held in deionized water) and sucrose solely. In particular, the freshness-keeping effects of treatments with 1 or 2 mg/L NS plus 15.0 g/L sucrose were the most effective among all treatments. The vase lives of cut lisianthus flowers treated with 1 mg/L NS+15.0 g/L sucrose and 2 mg/L NS+15.0 g/L sucrose were longer by 18.9 d and 18.3 d than that of the control (6.6 d), respectively. Moreover, the two combination treatments could significantly increase their daily ornamental value, improve the water uptake, and maintain a much higher fresh weight than those of the control and other treatments.

Effects of different nano-copper treatments on cut carnations‘Tonic Golem’

Show Abstract ( 226 )
In order to study the fresh-keeping effects of nano-copper (NC), a new-type nano-bactericide, on cut flowers, the ornamental quality, flower opening and water relations of cut carnations (Dianthus caryophyllus L. ‘Tonic Golem’) were investigated by using vase treatments with different concentrations of NC alone and NC plus 3 g/L sucrose. Compared with the control (i.e., the vase solution was deionized water), 2, 5 and 10 mg/L NC alone had no obvious fresh-keeping effects on the cut carnation flowers, while the combination of 2 or 5 mg/L NC and 3 g/L sucrose could effectively promote flower opening and make the flower colorful, and obviously reduce the petal wilting, thereby enhancing the ornamental quality of cut flowers. Further observation indicated that 2 or 5 mg/L NC plus 3 g/L sucrose significantly increased the relative flower diameter of cut carnations, improved their water uptake, and maintained a higher fresh weight and water balance value than those of control and other treatment. The results showed that the vase treatment with appropriate concentration of NC and sucrose combination solution had positive preservation effects on cut carnations ‘Tonic Golem’.

Show Abstract ( 206 )
Trichoderma asperellum as a biocontrol strain has high development and application value in plant pathologic diseases. According to the 12 557 proteins in the genome of T. asperellum CBS 433.97 strain, it was in order screened by SignalP, TargetP, TMHMM, WoLF PSORT and big-PI Predictor bioinformatics softwares and prediction programs. Finally, 485 secreted protein sequences with typical characteristics were obtained. A total of 137 proteins were obtained by comparing 485 secreted proteins with the carbohydrate-active enzymes database, cysteine content analysis and Pathogen-Host Interaction database analysis. The small molecule protein of less than 300 amino acid was further screened as the candidate effector protein, and 15 proteins were obtained, including one carbohydrate-binding module family protein, one carbohydrate-esterase protein, and 13 hypothetical proteins. The results provide a theoretical basis for further study on the mechanism of action of T. asperellum genes and its subsequent utilization.

Show Abstract ( 217 )
In order to explore the drought resistance of Melastomaceae, using Melastoma ‘Chaoqun’, Melastoma ‘Yuncai’, M. ultramaficum and Tibouchina aspera var. asperrima as materials, Artificial simulation of natural drought stress experiments were set to measure soil water content and photosynthetic characteristic parameters during drought stress, and the membership function analysis method was used for drought resistance evaluation. The results showed that with the increase of drought stress time, the soil water content showed a continuous downward trend, and the leaf wilted and shed in 4 species of Melastomaceae. As the drought stress intensified, the net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, intercellular CO2 concentration and transpiration rate all showed a downward trend, while the water use efficiency and stomatal limit values showed an upward trend. The results of membership function analysis showed that the drought resistance of 4 species of Melastomaceae was in the order of T.aspera var. asperrima>Melastoma ‘Chaoqun’> Melastoma ‘Yuncai’> M. ultramaficum.

Show Abstract ( 221 )
In order to explore the main phenolic substances and antioxidant activity of different parts of lichi fruit, the composition of polyphenols in different parts of Litchi chinensis was determined by HPLC and their antioxidant ability in different condition were determined by ABTS reduction assay. The results showed that: five lichi polyphenol samples were chemically different——the polyphenols in the flesh parts mainly contained proanthocyanidin B2, the polyphenols in the fresh core and shell mainly contained epicatechin, and the highest content of polyphenols with dried core and shell was proanthocyanidin A2, protocatechuic acid, respectively. The order of the five polyphenol samples on ABTS+ reduction ability was flesh > dried core > fresh core > fresh shell > dried shell. When the concentration of each lichi polyphenol sample was lower than 0.18 mg/mL, the ABTS+ reduction ability of each lychee polyphenol was higher than that of vitamin C except for dry lychee shell polyphenol. In addition, temperature, pH, and light had a relatively significant effect on the antioxidant activity of all five litchi polyphenol samples.

Show Abstract ( 202 )
Solid electrolytes have been regarded as the most promising electrolyte materials for the next generation of flexible electronic devices due to their excellent safety, wide operating temperature range, recycling convenient and etc. In order to explore a solid electrolyte with high ionic conductivity and excellent mechanical properties, Lithium lanthanum zirconium oxide (LLZO) as an inorganic active ceramics was compounded with modified poly (ionic liquid) to prepare a composite solid electrolyte with excellent performance. The structural differences between LLZO and the composite materials, the influence of LLZO's content on ionic conductivity, mechanical properties and compressive resistance of the composite solid electrolyte were investigated. The results revealed that: adding poly (ionic liquid) based binder not only endowed good flexibility for solid electrolytes, but also significantly improved the ion conductive efficiency of the electrolytes. When the content of LLTO in the composite solid electrolyte is 50%, the electrolyte obtained the highest ionic conductivity (1.45×10-4 S·cm-1) which is one order of magnitude higher than that of the pristine LLZO. If the compression resistance of composite solid electrolyte was characterized by the Vickell hardness, the hardness of the composite solid state electrolyte can reach 0.45 gf/μm2 at a LLZO content of 50%.

Mechanical properties and stress-strain constitutive relation of waste glass powder concrete

Journal . 2022, 35 (1): 48-55.
PDF (875KB) ( 501 )
Show Abstract ( 208 )
To use glass solid waste materials effectively, waste glass powder was used as cement admixture to prepare waste glass powder concrete (WGPC). The principle of replacing cement with waste glass powder was analyzed through mechanical properties test of WGPC. Based on the failure mechanism of WGPC, the variation rules of each mechanical properties were discussed. The random damage constitutive relationship was compared with the segmented constitutive relationship to discuss the stress-strain constitutive relationship of WGPC. Deformation properties such as damage evolution and brittleness index of the WGPC were also analyzed. The test results indicated that: with the increase of the substitution rate, the brittleness index of the WGPC will decrease slightly, and the reduction of its cubic compressive strength and axial compressive strength was larger than that of the elastic modulus and splitting tensile strength. The initial damage stage of the WGPC will last shorter, and the crack growth rate was relatively stable, especially in strain of 1×10-3~6×10-3. The calculation results of the segmental constitutive relationship and the random damage constitutive relationship were consistent with the experimental results. Instead of cement, waste glass powder possesses a good application prospect in concrete materials.

Show Abstract ( 205 )
The current “insurance + futures” pilot project had reflected the market-oriented operation idea of using market mechanism to protect farmers income and guiding agricultural production according to futures prices. However, it was difficult to form a mature business form of sustainable development and win-win situation in terms of financial support, term insurance cooperation and industrial docking. Based on this, a new “insurance + futures” operation mode by using the blockchain smart contract technology was attempted to explore, so as to solve the bottleneck problem existing in the process of large-scale promotion in China. It was mainly analyzed that the operation mechanism of the “insurance + futures” innovation mode based on the blockchain smart contract technology, and compared with the traditional “insurance + futures” mode in terms of insurance cost. The research results showed that: the model increases the sustainable development ability of “insurance + futures”, and improves the possibility of its full market development.

Progress in quorum sensing signals and their quenching of bacteria

Journal . 2022, 35 (1): 65-70.
PDF (396KB) ( 1134 )
Show Abstract ( 226 )
Quorum sensing (QS) is the cell-cell communication mechanism in bacteria to regulate cell motility, biofilm formation, toxin production and other pathogenic behaviors via signal molecules secretion and recognition. QS is essential for many pathogenic bacteria to regulate virulence genes expression to invade their hosts, which makes it as a very attractive target for the development of novel disease-suppressive strategies. Quorum quenching (QQ) is to interfere and block the expression of pathogenic related genes modulated by the quorum sensing of bacteria through signal molecule analogues, signal molecule degrading enzymes and signal receptor activators/inhibitors. This paper reviews the research progress of three important bacterial communication signals and their quenching, and summarizes and prospects the research.
