Abstract：The current “insurance + futures” pilot project had reflected the market-oriented operation idea of using market mechanism to protect farmers income and guiding agricultural production according to futures prices. However, it was difficult to form a mature business form of sustainable development and win-win situation in terms of financial support, term insurance cooperation and industrial docking. Based on this, a new “insurance + futures” operation mode by using the blockchain smart contract technology was attempted to explore, so as to solve the bottleneck problem existing in the process of large-scale promotion in China. It was mainly analyzed that the operation mechanism of the “insurance + futures” innovation mode based on the blockchain smart contract technology, and compared with the traditional “insurance + futures” mode in terms of insurance cost. The research results showed that: the model increases the sustainable development ability of “insurance + futures”, and improves the possibility of its full market development.
