Counting experiments were carried out on Bauhinia variegata planted in the wetland park of South China Agricultural University and Armeniaca mume planted in Luogang Xiangxue Park in Guangzhou city, based on technology combining UAV photography with "crown extraction" in order to introduce UAV and forest remote sensing technology into landscape project to improve work efficiency. Moreover, three steps including aerial photography, image preprocessing and image interpretation were analyzed in order to further improve the accuracy. Results showed that the leakage error of test on B.variegata and A.mume were 25.24% and 11.17%,and the misclassification error were 11.49% and 5.92%;All accuracy was preferable except the leakage error of test on B.variegate was a little higher. All three steps could be affected the accuracy of results. The remote sensing technology based on UAV could be a powerful aid to count trees in landscape projects, and the accuracy could be improved by optimize the workflow.
