Abstract The significance of pesticides to global food security cannot be overstated，as they serve as an indispensable means of production in agricultural practices. The key to enhancing the utilization rate of pesticides lies in optimizing the affinity between pesticides and leaf surfaces，as well as improving their deposition and adhesion capabilities on the leaf surface. Based on this，the factors influencing the wettability of pesticide droplets on plant leaves were analyzed in this paper，and the impact of pesticide droplet characteristics （including surface tension and contact angle） on their uniform adhesion or localized infiltration on leaves and deposition rate were reviewed. Furthermore，the effects of leaf surface morphology，including microstructure，waxy layer，leaf shape，and surface free energy on its wettability were further discussed. Lastly，a comprehensive investigation was conducted on the application of nanopesticides on the plant leaf surface.
