Abstract：In order to understand the effects of sugarcane-peanut intercropping on the peanut and sugarcane， field experiments of sugarcane monoculture，peanut monoculture and sugarcane-peanut intercropping were carried out. The results showed that， when compared with sugarcane monoculture，the sugarcane plant height increased by 5.22%，the single effective stem weight increased by 10.53%， the stem length increased by 15.39%， the effective stem number increased by 0.05%，the sucrose content increased by 6.18%，and the yield increased by 9 997 kg/hm2 in the sugarcane-peanut intercropping field. When compared with monoculture peanut，intercropping peanut grew well and the yield was relatively stable. Soil pH decreased and soil conductivity increased in the intercropping field. In conclusion，peanut-sugarcane intercropping can improve the agronomic and economic properties of sugarcane，and significantly improve soil pH and electrical conductivity. Therefore，sugarcane-peanut intercropping is an efficient cultivation mode.
