Research on relationship between agricultural economic growth and non-point source pollution under greendevelopment based on empirical evidence from Anqing City
Abstract:Green development is an inevitable requirement for implementing the new development concept and constructing a new development pattern. However agricultural non-point source pollution seriously hinders the comprehensive green transformation of agriculture. To promote the sustainable development of agricultural economy in Anqing City, data on four indicators of per capita agricultural output value and agricultural non-point source pollution in Anqing City from 2001 to 2022 were selected. Based on the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC)theory,an optimal model was established by fitting linear, quadratic, and cubic function models to analyze the relationship between agricultural economic growth and agricultural non-point source pollution in Anqing City. The empirical results show that there are significant inverted “U”-shaped,“N”-shaped,and inverted “N” - shaped curve relationships between fertilizer application, agricultural diesel application, pesticide application, agricultural film application, and per capita agricultural output value, respectively. The inflection points have all arrived in the research time series.Based on this, suggestions are proposed to improve the institutional system, increase investment subsidies, establish green concepts, scientifically and accurately govern, and develop ecological agriculture,in order to promote high-quality economic development and high-level ecological protection in Anqing City.
